Hey!  Intern Dylan here!

In my time interning here at Johnjay and Rich, I have learned a lot about audio producing from my best friend Joey Bradfisch!  While I slave away on--I mean--produce a lot of projects, my FAVORITE project to produce is "Remember the Time".

So I'm gonna teach all of YOU how to do it, so that you can create your own times to remember!!!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STEP ONE: PICK A YEAR

Here at Johnjay and Rich, we pick any year between 1991 and 2010, giving us a wide range of genres and styles for our pop culture references.

STEP TWO: PICK YOUR REFERENCES

There are MILLIONS of events and pop culture phenomenons that define each year, so HOW DO WE CHOOSE?

We actually have a really simple formula--two movies, two songs, one debut television series.

HOW DO WE FIND THEM?

Why, WIKIPEDIA of course!

Go to Wikipedia.org and type in whatever year you want to do + film, music or American television.

For film, the best thing to do is go to MOVIECLIPS.COM so you have the best quality possible.

After I find my movies, I find my music via SPOTIFY.

TV shows can be found on Spotify, YouTube, Netflix or really any other video screening service, but can't be found on Movieclips because--HAHAHA--they're not movies.

All clips should be between 5 and 12 seconds--NEVER MORE THAN 20 (or else Johnjayh and Rich will scrutinize you FOREVER)

STEP THREE: MIX IT ALL TOGETHER

You can use any editing software you have at your disposal, but we like to use ADOBE AUDITION.

(I hid the names of the files to keep it a SECRET)

When you're finished, you simply highlight all of the clips, right click and choose "Mixdown to New File".  Save it as an MP3 and it will sound something like this...

Remember the Time

Can you remember the time?  I CAN!

Now that you know how to do this, don't hesitate to try it at home.  It's not for the faint of heart, but it's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!

B'HATZLAHA!!! (Hebrew for GOOD LUCK)
