Ever since I started planning this wedding everyone keeps saying, “ooohhhh enjoy this wedding planning time it goes by so fast,” and up until this point I have simply thought they were NUTS!!! I've said to myself screw all this stress of planning… when I am done with the planning then I will enjoy it!  But there was a moment this weekend where I saw the light...lol

 I have now discovered the point where the wedding planning gets fun… the tastings!!!!

I mean there is food galore… smorgasbord central… delicious dish upon delicious dish... it's amazing!!!  We had TWO tastings scheduled on Saturday… and while I DO NOT recommend that… we had a great time.

The day started with our first option and driving up to this place we had NOOOO idea what to expect… it was in Carbondale, Colorado up on the side of a mountain…

...and when we got there there was a crazy lookin’ jeep parked in the rough…

...which got us thinking what the heck are we getting ourselves in to?!?!?! But the view from this place was exquisite!!!

 And we met Chef Jimmy from Bravo Fine Catering… and were soooo incredibly impressed! 

As we are scarfing down Jimmy was going over his resume… and man was it impressive… he catered Kevin Costner’s wedding… he was the personal chef of Jon Bon Jovi and Robert DeNiro… he catered Will Smith’s New Year’s Eve party… he’s cooked for Oprah and like a million other celebs… and after eating his food, I can see why!!!  He brought out such delectable options for our food choices we were practically shoveling them one by one into our starving bellies.  BIG MISTAKE…

As the tasting was winding down and we were completely stuffed to the brim…we realized one small detail… we had another tasting to go to right after!!!  We were sooooooo incredibly full that when we got to our second tasting those poor people probably thought we hated their food because we could only fit a small bite of each in to our stomachs without almost BURSTING!!!  Be that as it may we have decided to attempt to move forward with Chef Jimmy.  Cross your fingers it all works out cause his food had it all… taste, presentation, and a wow factor that we are so incredibly excited about!!!

I will say the stress of wedding planning has gotten the best of me the last couple of days…

Invitations can set a tone for a wedding… We had a meeting with an invitation designer last trip out to our venue with our wedding planner(I had absolutely NOOOOO idea sooooo much crap went into the invitations… paper, labels, belly bands, calligraphers, layers, press printing, normal printing blah blah blaaaaahhh). You would think the wedding planner would have gone through our style with this lady.   What does this invitation lady come to the table with???? HIGH PRICES and boring A$$ invites.   I had asked our wedding planner about invitations a month ago and she said we had plenty of time because 4-6 weeks is the standard time to send out invites.  I had always heard its more like 8-12 weeks for a destination wedding but I trusted what our planner said….  Now all I am hearing is that the invites should already be out so I am scrambling…

While somewhat freaking out I went in to “GO MODE” where I contacted a designer I found online http://www.signaturesbysarah.com/ and emailed her about a design… all good there she was incredibly quick to respond and I have all the confidance in the world we are going to LOVE what she puts together for us… only then….  I had to find somewhere to print them

Well I found a wonderfully helpful invitation lady named Dori and Debbi at an invitation place here in town called Definitely Debra who have just been incredibly nice to work with and Definitely Debra’s is going to print it for us!!!!  Although Dori agreed with me about the 8-12 week thing and NOW our invitations aren’t going to get out when I wanted them too but at least the invitations are starting to come together…. Whew… check one thing off the list… time to adreess the 50 million others….

I may just lose my SSSSSSS on our wedding planner.  The stress of planning this wedding is starting to get to me

BIG TIME. 

When we first me our wedding planner she seemed to be completely on top of things she agreed to keep us in our budget, she had no problem with our short time period in which we had to plan it and seemed to be in sync with our personalities.  We originally wanted a wedding planner to help us with the big day because it is an out of state wedding and we don’t have any sort of knowledge of the good vendors etc.  I had researched that a good wedding planner often pays for themselves with their negotiation power with vendors.  So we hired one and I was so excited.

She started to rub me the wrong way a few months ago when she would say she would email a re-cap of our meeting via email a couple of days after the meeting…. And a couple of days after the meeting there would be no re-cap in my in-box.   I had to remind her to send them.  My biggest pet peeve on the planet is when you say you are going to do something and then don’t do it.  This happened a few times but, I chalked it up to me just being anal and moved forward.   I then got irritated when we had our first vendor meetings and she did NOTHING to prepare us for them so when we were put on the spot to ask questions we didn’t know when the heck to ask and the meeting became somewhat unproductive. Little things like those here and there have been building up on me.  And in my attempt not to be bridezilla I have let them go…. BUT……

There are a few other things... but without boring you with them... I will say this.... There's only 3 months till the wedding and  it is  now crunch time!!!! So I'm a little on edge and wondering why are we still moving at what seems like turtle pace?!?!?  The last trip our there she had 3 meetings scheduled for us… 3… the whole weekend.  We didn’t travel to the venue for vacation we wanted to get as much done possible and now we are behind.  I feel like I to have to ride her a$$ on where things are at with negotiations… where contracts are …  why we are over a month behind on our timeline and have had 2 months to catch up, etc and yet here we are and I am starting to freak out.  I just need to know what is happening.

TO TOP IT ALLLLLL OFF…. She sent over a new projected budget and it’s $13,000 over what we had told her was our MAX…. WTF FREAKING OUT>

SO… I emailed her a list of questions and topics I wanted to talk about an she replied with … “I want to discuss if you have confidence in me to move forward together.”

>> SERIOUSLY!?!??!?! I DIDN’T KNOW ASKING FOR AN UPDATE MEANT I DIDN’T HAVE CONFIDANCE!!!! WTFFFFFFFFFFFF  AM I OVERREACTING HELLLLLLLLPPPPP!!!
