Mom tries to drown son, 6, in Palmdale swimming pool, witnesses say
Witnesses told police the woman was screaming about the world ending and saying, “I have to let you go.”

(KFI) -- An 8-year-old boy was hospitalized in stable condition today after his mother attempted to drown him in the pool of a Palmdale apartment complex, a sheriff's deputy said.
Allaire McDougall, 33, is suspected of trying to drown the boy in the pool of the Monte Vista apartments in the 2500 block of East Olive Drive around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Peter Gomez.
Witnesses said the woman pushed the child under water while saying, ``It's the end of the world; I have to let you go,'' CBS2 reported.
Bystanders rescued the boy, Gomez said.
The case was being investigated by the sheriff's Special Victims Bureau.
