AMERICAN IDOL TOP 6 RE-CAP
Thursday, April 26, 2012

Skylar Laine and Joshua Ledet shine, while Hollie Cavanagh stumbles, receives a lecture from Jennifer Lopez.

For the first half of last night's "American Idol", the remaining six performed the music of Queen, whose members kicked off the night with a medley of hits.

Jessica Sanchez was in top form nailing "Bohemian Rhapsody" and later turned out an emotional performance of Luther Vandross's "Dance With My Father," which she dedicated to her own military dad.

Joshua Ledet also dominated with covers of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and India.Arie's ballad "Ready for Love," earning yet another standing ovation from the judges.

Skylar Laine and Elise Testone also delivered strong performances.

Skylar sang Queen‘s ‘The Show Must Go On' which gave judge Jennifer Lopez "goosies".  For her personal choice, she sang Jason Aldean‘s ‘Tattoos on This Town' while strumming a guitar.

Hollie Cavanagh and Phillip Phillips stumbled.

J. Lo worried that Phillips's choice of the Dave Matthews Band rarity "The Stone" would hurt his chances. And Hollie's performance of Queen's "Save Me" didn't resonate with the entire panel.

Hollie bounced back in the second round with a soaring take on Miley Cyrus's "The Cimb."
